Bethlehem, Pa., – (January 6, 2010) – Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection located in Bethlehem, Pa., has named Benjamin Bretzik  of Allentown, Pa., mass notification business development and sales specialist.           

            In this new role, Bretzik will acquire new business in the area of mass notification systems for Kistler O’Brien. Using his engineering and design background, Bretzik will also be responsible for design and development of customer mass notification systems. Mass notification systems use communications technology in emergency situations to alert and guide individuals to safety and include use of high amplitude speakers, interior intercom systems, mobile devices and personal computers.

“Mass notification systems align well with our current product offerings in fire protection and suppression systems and mark a growth area for Kistler O’Brein Fire Protection,” said Eric F. Blasser, president of Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection.

Prior to joining Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection, Bretzik was a design engineer with Blue Bird Coachworks of Fort Valley, Ga., where he led the company in the design of luxury motor coaches and transit buses. Prior to that, he was senior mechanical designer with Featherlite Luxury Motorcoaches in Sanford, Fla., where he also led projects on motorcoach design. He has also worked in Florida for two other firms dealing in the design of yacht interiors and aircraft systems.

“New and prospective customers will benefit from Ben’s extensive background of designing complex systems in the custom transportation industry as he engineers and designs complex mass notification systems for large campuses including colleges and hospitals among others,” added Blasser.

Bretzik attended the University of Central Florida.
